Why this is the job Hyderabad needs
Hyderabad's building stock is dominated by apartment complexes with basement parking, and a basement is the hardest water problem there is. Rain on a terrace can be shed. Ground water against a basement wall is under pressure from every side, all year, and it will find the construction joint between the raft and the wall, the shuttering pockets, and any honeycombed patch in the pour. Painting the inside face does nothing about it. The water simply pushes the coating off, which is why so many basements here have a coating peeling away in sheets.
What the work involves
We work from the joints outwards. Holes are drilled at the leaking joint or crack, packers are fixed, and grout is injected under pressure so it travels into the path the water is using and fills it from inside. Only once the water has stopped moving does anything go on the surface, and then it is a coating specified to work on the negative side, the face the water is pushing against. Where the leak is at a pipe entry or a lift pit, those are treated as their own details rather than rolled into an area rate.
Worth knowing before you call
- The survey happens with the basement wet, not after it has been pumped and dried. We need to see where the water is actually coming in.
- Parking bays are done in sections so the complex does not lose its whole basement at once.
- For a society, the written scope separates common basement work from anything that belongs to an individual owner.
